The Fables are back with their newest release Kings And Little Ones. This is The Fable’s fourth CD, and their first since 2002, after somewhat of a break in touring and recording.
Recording began in April 2006 at The Stage House, G-Street, and McDonald Brothers Audio. There are eight original songs written by Glen Simmons and Billy Sutton. The sound on this CD is harder edged, but at the same time there is plenty of the celtic sound there as well.
Since 1999, The Fables have received East Coast Music Association nominations for Best Roots/Traditional Group, Best New Group, Group of the Year, Album of the Year, and Songwriter of the Year (band member Glenn Simmons). They have also received Music Industry Association of Newfoundland and Labrador awards for Best New Group, Folk/Roots Group of the Year , SOCAN Song of the Year, Album of the Year, CBC Galaxie Rising Star Award, Entertainer of the Year, and Group of the Year. In 2001, the group took home the East Cost Music Award for Entertainer of the Year and in 2003, were nominated for an East Coast Music Award for Group of the Year. |
